Proverbs 12:16

Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult. - Proverbs 12:16

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help me to wink at criticism and to stuff my clatter about pet peeves. I don't need to be so egocentric as to believe that everyone needs to know what gripes me. And often the person that's annoying me needs my love and patience more than my frustration. Give me the peaceful strength to avoid venting frustration without repressing it. Help me to pray my frustrations to you and then to find in your Word the solutions for my angst. When I do overlook an insult, use that one act of self control to strengthen the bonds between the one insulting and me. Oh God, give me the power and wisdom to step out of the downward spiral of disintegrating relationships.

Amen
