1 Timothy 1:3-5
As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. – 1 Timothy 1:3-5
Dear Jesus,
Give me the courage to avoid filling my mind with the spiritual junk food that comes from endless discussions about trivial applications and petty speculations. Keep me from judgmental critiques of political opinions and worldly pseudo spirituality. Make me concerned more about the gospel and how to help people understand your love and salvation which are beyond human reason. Give me the spiritual health food that cleanses the colon of my soul and restores it to the healthy digestion of life. That way I will interpret the circumstances where you place me in the exact way you want. Then I will be safe, wise, and a blessing for others.
Amen
