John 15:16

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other. – John 15:16

Dear Jesus,

It feels like I have chosen you because I consciously choose to follow you every day. But I know that this would never happen unless you had taken over my soul and made me believe you are who you say you are.  The fact that you have chosen me, gives me great comfort.  I know that my choice is fickle and changes back and forth.  Your choice never changes.  It’s stability in my life.  I am chosen to be your fruitful child.  Knowing this makes me work harder at loving you and loving people in my life.  You’ve chosen me for fruitful love.  Oh Jesus, help me be the person you have chosen for me to be.

AMEN

We don’t tell Jesus who we want him to be for us.  He tells us who he has chosen us to be.
