Matthew 21:12-13

Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations” but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” – Matthew 21:12-13

Dear Jesus,

You came as the Savior of all nations and then in your last week on earth you wanted to teach Jews and Gentiles alike in your Father’s courts.  How zealous you became to cleanse the whole place of distractions.  It shows me how zealous you are to get your word of grace to more people.  Please help my pastor to clearly and boldly proclaim the hope and love that come from Palm Sunday to Easter this week.  And bring people to our services that need to hear that their sins are forgiven and that their lives still matter.  Help my church family to not get so wrapped up in Easter eggs, Easter bonnets and family gatherings that they miss the life changing truth of your empty grave!  Settle my own distracted heart and help me to meditate deeply on the last week you spent on earth in my behalf.

Amen

Pastor Don Patterson

God wants undistracted time with his favorite creation.  So, don’t resist him when he calls you to quietly meditate on the meaning of his Son’s last week.
