1 Timothy 5:8

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. – 1 Timothy 5:8

Dear Jesus,

I know that you are not specifying how much you want me to provide for my family. But I can clearly see that you want me to put aside selfish desires in order to make sure that they have basic needs met and then some.  I am amazed how you glue my care for family to my faith.  If I really believe in you I will provide for my family as much as I am able.  It will joyfully make my family’s needs a mission for my life.  When I’m serving them I’m serving you, the one who loved and blessed me like a brother.  Accept my caregiving as my heartfelt thanks for all of your blessings in my life.  AMEN
