Galatians 6:9-10

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. – Galatians 6:9-10

Dear Jesus,

It’s easy for me to be conditional in the way I serve.  If I don’t see immediate results in the lives of the people I serve, I can easily lose my interest in serving them or anyone else for that matter.  I thank you for this passage that promises that the harvest of my love in action comes later just as the time between sowing and reaping crops often spans months.  Your love for us was always tangible and consistent.  It did not wait for appreciation or halt when it was lacking.  I want that kind of durable love, Lord Jesus.  Toughen up my fickle heart and make it resilient to the troubles that all servants face.  AMEN

Tough love doesn’t prevent the tough life, it creates it.
