Psalm 104:33-35

I will sing to the Lord all my life;
    I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
May my meditation be pleasing to him,
    as I rejoice in the Lord.
But may sinners vanish from the earth
    and the wicked be no more. – Psalm 104:33-35

Dear heavenly Father,

You have blessed me so much in body and soul, I have every reason to be happy.  But sin lurkes in my heart and threatens to steal my joy.  Create beautiful thoughts in my heart just like you create beautiful flowers and new life in the spring.  I feel for you that you would have to look at our thoughts every day as dark as they can be.  I want my heart to be as attractive to you as a beautiful field of bluebonnets.  But I cannot produce soul flowers without your seeds, water and sun.  I am dead soil without you.  Oh, Lord restore to me the pure, happy thoughts that become a child of God.  AMEN

Pastor Don Patterson

God can do in our hearts what he does in the landscape at springtime. We only need to ask.
