Ruth 1:1
“In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land. So a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab.” -
Ruth 1:1
Dear Jesus,
Oh how Elimilech tried to fix his family‘s situation! But you Lord we’re doing something far bigger and far more traumatic than he could ever imagine. Although it seems that no matter what he tried it would all just get worse, you were preparing the soil to plant a beautiful rose that would teach us so much about earthly life and heavenly hope. I get hope from even the dark part of the story of Ruth because it reminds me that the darkness of this present era is only a few threads in the fabric you are creating. Give me faith and wisdom to steadily shine no matter how complicated or disappointing life may seem. I am your servant. Let it be to me according to your word.
Amen

God makes us shine brighter the more darkness we encounter.
