1 Corinthians 13:1-3

1 Corinthians 13_1-3.png

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. - 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Dear Jesus,

I seem to give an inordinate amount of time to think about what my strengths and weakness are.  I wonder what gifts I have and how I can use them to advance my own personal real estate in the lives of others.  But your word here takes me one giant step deeper.  You remind me that all my gifts, talents and abilities, are nothing if I don't posses your unconditional love for all people.  Your love is the gas in the tank that drives all other strengths.  If I'm not captivated and motivated by love, all of my life is a clanging bell without any rhyme or reason. Jesus, please miraculously motivate me by love so everything else makes sense in my life for me and others.

Amen
