1 Timothy 1:18-20

Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme. – 1 Timothy 1:18-20

Dear Jesus,

What you had Paul tell Timothy resonates with me too.  “Hold on to the faith with a good conscience”.  My conscience is “good” because you have cleansed it of guilt with your unconditional forgiveness.  And my conscience is clear because I sincerely believe that you love me and all people.  I cling to this faith as I speak and teach others about you.  Strike from my mouth any words that are contrary to the grace you so desperately want others to know.  Make me a tool in your hand to fix the sin/guilt problem in this world.  Use me to destroy the works of the devil and don’t let me be destroyed by his schemes.  Be my God as I step out in faith to serve you today by strengthening others.

Amen

One of the most powerful weapons we have in our daily spiritual warfare is a conscience made clear by Christ’s redeeming love.
