Philippians 3:15-16

All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Philippians 3:15-16

Dear Jesus,

I love that you teach me that the secret to maturity is learning that your gospel frees me from keeping a record of my own sins or of those who have sinned against me.  What a powerful restoration of life that I can let go of the awful mistakes we have all made.  I am free to forgive myself and others and to live a life of love.  When I accidentally fall back into keeping a record of sins, shake me by the shoulders and wake me up to what I am missing from your grace.  I don't want to live with sins piling up in my memory.  I want to live neat and clean in my conscience and thoughts, free from the clutter of guilt and bitterness.  I believe you have enabled me to do it too.  So, give me the memory and wisdom that your Holy Spirit gives.  Make me a gospel light-hearted soul.

Pastor Don Patterson

There's nothing quite as wonderful as the light-hearted life of a soul cleansed of the clutter of sin record keeping.
