James 5:19-20

My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins. – James 5:19-20

Dear Jesus,

This verse reminds me of the many people I know who have wandered from the faith and chased their love for this world.  Some have proved unfaithful to their spouses.  Others have chased money more than faith.  Some have succumbed to the mind numbing philosophies spun in college classrooms.  People, once tender to the touch of your word, are calloused to you and to me.  Give me a brave heart and winsome tongue to win them back to your truth and grace.  Make me leave the comforts of my spaces, where I hide in business, to endure the discomfort of their irritability to show your persistent love by planting words in their hearts they can never forget.   Help me Jesus, be the salt of the earth that long for.
