James 3:1-2
Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. --James 3:1-2
Dear Jesus,
I have been a teacher in your church for over 30 years and I shudder to think of how many times I have misrepresented you. I am comforted that James, your brother, says we all stumble in many ways. But the thought of stricter judgement frightens me. I guess it should. It's amazing that you should let anyone but yourself teach your sacred word. Guide all your teachers from Sunday school to seminary to teach only what is the purest truth for the salvation and sanctification of our souls. I repent of all the misguided thoughts I have ever shared with others. Thank you for the cross that washes teachers of their sins.
Amen

When you're teaching for Jesus use great caution and love to say only what you know he would.
