James 2:25-26

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. - James 2:25-26

Dear Jesus,

Even a lie can serve you if it springs from faith  In my puny mind I cannot believe I just thought that.  But it's true.  Rahab was serving you when she lied to the men who would have killed your spies who had come to Jericho to case it for battle. Rahab's protective action showed you and the world that she had faith in you.  I want my actions to show that I have faith in you too.  Give me discernment to know what kind of life in big and small ways serves your cause that looms large and high above worldly pursuits.  It's like we pray in the Lord's Prayer, "Thy kingdom come!"

Amen
