John 14:30-31

I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. – John 14:30-31

Dear Jesus,

I think it’s amazing that you reframed the devil’s evil plot to torture and humiliate you as an opportunity for you to show the world how much you love the Father and us.  That insightful way of filtering the evil coming your way, cleansed the entire cross experience and made it a beautiful testimony instead of a horrible tragedy.  Help me to see opportunities in the otherwise disappointing tragedies of my life.  Give me the wisdom to step up and honor you and the Father with an obedient heart without regard for the difficulties that might bring me.  Make me an optimist based on faith and not circumstances.

Amen

Pastor Don Patterson

Christ’s optimism sees triumph in disaster and hope in disappointment. Don’t rest until you figure out how to be that optimistic yourself.
