Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17

Dear Jesus,

Some companies won’t put their brand name on products if they don’t meet their standards of excellence.  But you tell me to put your name on every word I say and every deed I perform.  That really changes the game for me.  When I think about doing things “in your name” I am much more aware of what you want and how my words and actions will reflect on your reputation.  I love how this simple goal will teach me to think and pray before I react to challenging situations and difficult words.  Thank you that I have the opportunity now to decide what I can do to glorify you instead of living like a functional atheist, without thought to your concern over my life.  Give me wisdom and discernment to choose words and actions that give people a picture of what you are like when they encounter me.  Take my life and let it be consecrated Lord, to thee!

AMEN
