Ecclesiastes 11:5-6

As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
    the Maker of all things.

Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let your hands not be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
    whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well. – Ecclesiastes 11:5-6

Dear God,

It’s easy for me to get myopic vision and pursue only one or two things to make my life a blessing to others.  But here you tell me to diversify.  You are getting me to think outside the box.  I can try lots of different things at work, in relationships, in ministry and in life with faith in your word that says I’m giving you more choices to bless.  I have seen you bless little things I’ve done and made them much bigger than I ever expected.  Help me to find more variety in what I do with my life and give me eyes to see when you bless this or that for the benefit of others.  Make my life a surprise blessing to me and others.

AMEN

Pastor Don Patterson

God wants us to busy ourselves with faith filled, urgent, diversified good works and not fanatical, stressful ambitions.
