Matthew 18:1-4

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”  2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 18:1-4

Dear Jesus,

I spend so much time thinking about how I should be a good model for children that I too easily forget that children are your model for me.  I’m a simple child in your sight.  I repent of viewing myself as more than a child.  By your Holy Spirit, help me to accept truth, guidance and rebuke as easily as child will.   Erase from my heart any desire to see how or where I fit in my world as if my “place” is worthy of a lot of emotional bandwidth.  Replace the vacuum that concern over status leaves behind with love and compassion for others.  AMEN

Mature people know that they are every bit of a child as they were the day they were born.
