Matthew 19:13-14

Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – Matthew 19:13-14

Dear Jesus,

I often think that little children should wait till they have more experience before they can understand the deeper truths of the faith. But you turn my opinion on its ear. Children are the leaders in your kingdom because they trust the simple, but profound words about your love and truth. They are not shallow, muddy, puddles. They are deep springs able to hold crystal clear truths. Help me to pack your word into their uncluttered hearts while they are still young. Make their parents and the leaders at my church passionate about children’s ministry that will imprint them for eternity. AMEN

Children are wet cement. Be careful and deliberate as you trowel over their hearts. What you do and say to them will be there for a lifetime.
