Micah 5:2
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.” - Micah 5:2
Dear Heavenly Father,
The prophets’ varied and sprinkled promises about your Son scattered all over the millennia before he was born, remind me of the bread crumbs that Hansel and Gretel naively sprinkled behind so their father could find them. What faith the prophets had that their words would be preserved and used by you to guide generations to your Son. You protect the small acts of people to assemble huge blessings for many. I love to hear how you chose Bethlehem as the birth place of Jesus and led Micah to leave behind the crumb telling us so 600 years before he was born. What a beautiful place to create the story of Salvation! What a a great way to remind us of the promise you gave David that one of his descendants would be the Messiah! Give me ways that I can leave behind crumbs for you that you will speak to people yet to be born.
Amen

God told us where Jesus would be born so that we would have the blessing of trusting in him.
