1 Peter 1:10-12

1 Peter 1_10-12.jpg

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things. – 1 Peter 1:10-12

Dear Jesus,

I sometimes forget just how fortunate we are to live right now in history.  The Old Testament prophets got bits and pieces of prophecy but you did show them the masterpiece of salvation in your Son that you have shown us in the gallery of the New Testament.   The angels didn’t even get to know your grand plan until we had seen it first.  We are better off than the prophets and the angels.  We know the entire story and it brings us great faith, peace and joy.  It also gives us a clear message to share with our generation.  Thank you for having setting my life on this side of the cross.  I feel privileged and deeply loved.  When I start to have a pity party for myself, remind me of the great life in Christ you have created for me and turn me back to faith and love.

Pastor Don Patterson

No one understands the gospel about Jesus and trusts that God loves him apart from the miraculous gift of the Holy Spirit.
