Philippians 3:20-21

Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.  - Philippians 3:20-21

Dear Jesus,

What comforting passages these are!  Especially after a long night wrestling with pains in my body.  You did not just redeem my soul. But you also redeemed this body of mine.  It gives me great hope to thing that although I will ultimately fail at preserving my body, yet you will raise it up glorious body to live forever someday.  The thought relieves me of the stress of worrying about my health.  I can settle in to taking care of myself best I can and leaving the rest to you.  I can use what little extra energy I have to serve others in your name instead of dwelling on myself.  I am free to live and love because of your redemption of the body too.  Thank you for putting my thoughts about my body in proper perspective.

Amen
