Ephesians 5:15-20

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. - Ephesians 5:15-20

Dear Jesus,

What it must be like as the eternal God who gave himself only 33 years on earth to watch us waste our time as if we will be here forever. Help us to redeem our time by finding ways to grow in your word and to serve others instead of mindless binge watching shows on our televisions where others act out make-believe stories spun in the human mind. The real life drama you have placed right in front of us, is a great opportunity for us to grow internally and have a greater impact on human life. You designed your word and music to be a powerful combination to make your truths stick in our hearts. So, give us the creativity to use technology, our voices, musical instruments and Christians songs to lift each other up and give hope to those who are discouraged. Help us to replace our penchant for partying with a deep desire to practice sincere Christian joy.

Amen
