When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. - Matthew 7:28-29
Dear Jesus,
Your teachings have a liberating authority in my life. They free me from confusion caused by my mixed motives and convoluted rationalizations. They point me to love, to obey and to be honest with you and people. They lift the burden of guilt and embarrassing shame from my thoughts. They give me life and hope too. Simply put, your words rock my world. Thank you for leaving them behind for the millions of us people who come after you. They are the foundation of our lives in a tumultuous world wrecked by our sins.
