Dear Jesus,
How easy it is for me to think that to keep myself from sin, I just need better rules and promises that I create for myself. But the truth is, I really just need you. I need you to cover me with your righteousness to fill me with your love and to give me a wholesome desire to do good. Give me the pervasive strength that comes from a new identity as a child of God so I do not spend time imagining how to make myself happy by gratifying my selfish desires. Fill my cup up so I will not try to fill it up on my own. Clothe me For spiritual success, Lord Jesus.
