In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. – 1 Timothy 3:11-13

Dear Jesus,

Give us leading couples in our churches who grow daily in your word, who are not strangers to Bible classes and race to help the infirm or the troubled souls.  Give us leading couples whose homes are oasis of love and faith, who share with others and change lives through generosity and intervention. Give us adults who act like adults and authentic communities that give lost people a place to be found.  Make us like you Jesus, in words and actions.  Put a gaurd over the mouths of leading women and men in our churches so they do not whisper words that divide people.  Make them good stewards of what they write in email, texts and other social media.

Amen

Pastor Don Patterson

One person can make or break a church.  One should never underestimate the power of his or her words to either repair or destroy the flock of God.
