James 1:10-11

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride on their high position.  But the rich should take pride in their humiliation-since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed.  In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. – James 1:10-11

Dear Heavenly Father,

I love how James puts all of us on the same level.  Wealth and poverty have this in common; they both are only temporary.  So, I find my greatest value in the salvation you have graciously given me.  I am going to be okay no matter how my life goes because I go to heaven.  This gives me hope for today that makes me confident even if great difficulty awaits me.  Help me to stop comparing my life with others since it’s all temporary anyway.  And help me use whatever you give me to reach out to others with your great treasure.

Amen
