James 2:14-17

James 2_14-17.jpg

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. - James 2:14-17

Dear Savior,

Your deeds always matched your words and I am so thankful because when I look into this passage I see my failure to always care as much I say I do.  Your joyful obedience that made you love all people perfectly, covers my selfish life.  I want to be the child of God that shows his faith by his acts of love.  Give me eyes to see the needs around me and the heart to do something unnaturally tangible to eradicate them.  Give me the faith that works but doesn't see it as labor.

AMEN

Faith and love are conjoined twins that catch your attention by the way they live their lives out in ours.
