1 Peter 2:11-12

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. – 1 Peter 2:11-12

Dear Jesus,

I know you want my life to sing the music of grace.  Give me strong discernment to see the evil desires that rage against my soul. Help me fight them so I do not succumb to the selfish life the rest of the world is in. I am not at home here on this planet.  But I am where you want me to be, sojourning as a pilgrim of grace and truth. I see criticism in the news of your people and I want to do what I can to tell them how wrong they are.  Help me to live a morally pure life with selfless love that is void of judgment.  I want to clearly display what it means to live a God pleasing life that also blesses humanity.  I want pagans to be challenged by what they see in my life when they are prone to judge you, me, and your people. I want them to see you when they see me.  Oh Jesus, come and live your life through your church.

AMEN
