Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39

Dear Jesus,

Underneath the surface of my heart is an anxious concern that I will struggle and perish outside of your help and rescue.  To my eyes we all seem so vulnerable to health problems, to car wrecks, to the whims of others, to even recalcitrant worldly enemies.  That’s why I love this passage.  It brings me back to the safe harbor of faith in your love and protection that follow me everywhere I go.  Help me to remember you are always watching and helping with a merciful, helpful, heart.

AMEN
